Rushbanks Farm Caravan and Camping Site

Rushbanks Campsite

Rushbanks Farm Caravan and Camping Site is set in the heart of Dedham Vale, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The region was immortalised by the famous paintings of John Constable, and is thus known as ‘Constable Country.`

Rushbanks Farm is the only official site on the banks of the River Stour, close to the charming Suffolk village of Nayland which is characterised by picturesque 15th century buildings.

It is a site with good facilities offering an original and family-friendly atmosphere, especially catering for boaters and canoeists. The river is wide and deep and there is a mile and a half of unobstructed water. There are several landing stages, and launching over the bank is easy.

A public footpath also crosses our farm, with several walking trails to choose from, including a forty minute cross-country walk to the pub.

Rushbanks Farm welcomes families who want to enjoy themselves, whilst providing many opportunities for nature lovers and those who want to explore the great outdoors – or others who just want to relax, and wind down around a campfire under the stars at night.

Had a fantastic time here in August 2019. Its me and 3 kids aged 4,8 and 10. We only went for 2 nights and the main day was pouring but not to hard. My son (10) happily went boating in the rain. The river Staub runs past the Campsite and there’s 3 jetties to launch off. You don’t need to rent the campsites boats to use the river.
There nowhere to refreeze your ice blocks. There’s toilets and a washing up area which is close to the sunset viewing area. It really is beautiful.
There’s a shower block which is portahowers about 10 in a row.
Depending on timing is how likely you are to get a river side view. We were lucky and got a great place. We put up our gazebo on the second day just before the rain and were lucky that our neighbour packed up before that cause our 4.5m by 4.5m gazebo is huge.
All in all q ehad a great time
